Ka tae mai a Matariki
Ka Matariki apopo, tomorrow is Matariki!
Matariki is our Aotearoa Pacific New Year. It takes its name from the seven star constellation which reappears over the horizon in late May. In Western astronomy this constellation is called The Pleiades.
In 2010 Matariki will be celebrated on June 14. So Happy Matariki koutou!
Because Matariki signals the beginning of a new year, it's a great time to set some goals or start something new. You could:
-get fit
-learn a new hobby
-do something to remind your family how fabulous you think they are
-make a wish for the new year when you see the moon
Kia pai to wiki koutou, have a great week everyone and kia tupato koutou ki runga i te maunga, be careful up the mountain!
What are your Matariki goals, publish them as a comment below...
